are focusing on an incredible Saint, a doctor of the Church and the man who
compiled and translated the Bible – Saint Jerome.

week we will step into the world of Saint Jerome (347–420) — the
brilliant, irascible, fiercely devoted scholar whose translation of the Bible
into Latin, the Vulgate, shaped Christianity for over a millennium. Born
in Stridon, educated in Rome, and later living as a hermit in the Syrian
desert, Jerome became one of the most learned men of late antiquity. His
mastery of Latin, Greek, and Hebrew and his uncompromising pursuit of
accuracy made him the Church’s most formidable biblical translator.
