are focusing on an amazing female Saint from the very earliest days of
Christianity that many today do not know about – Saint Thecla.
Saint
Thecla is one of the most electrifying figures of early Christianity — a young
noblewoman who defied her family, her fiancé, and the Roman world to follow
Saint Paul. Her story includes courtroom drama, miraculous escapes, attempted
martyrdoms, and the founding of one of the earliest Christian communities led
by a woman.
This
episode explores her life through Scripture, the Acts of Paul and Thecla,
archaeology, Greco‑Roman history, and the rise of female leadership in the
early Church. This week we bring to life the woman early Christians called
“Equal to the Apostles.”
